Zimbabwe’s history of growing coffee is relatively short and intermittent compared to it’s East African neighbors. A host of issues have marred production over the years: disease, environmental and weather factors, and land rights issues. Despite the climate, environmental and government oppression, some estates have been able to persevere. Salimba Estate has continued in the face of myriad challenges. All of the milling and processing are done on the plantation, just on the outskirts of Chipinge Town.
