This decaf coffee was sourced specially by Swing’s buyers and our partners at Campesino Coffee. Drawn from 60 small family farms, these lots are high-grown, hard beans. The decaffeination plant uses a patented method of extracting ethanol from sugar cane, which grows in abundance in the area. This method is 100% chemical-free, leaving you only the pure flavor of the coffee.
Selecting beans for decaf from people and farms we know, further ensures that this coffee is traceable and transparent. From our producer friends in Jerico to our decaf partner Sven Dabelstien at DescafeCol in Manizales, to our export partner at Campesino Specialty Coffee, to our importer at InterAmerican Coffee, and all the actors involved in making this, we built the scope and scale of the supply chain with trusted actors. This decaf coffee fully complies with our Home Grown Buying Program.
That is all to say that we are intent on finding the best lots we can to have them go through decaffeination. So often for those sourcing decaf, the level of quality is an after-thought, if one at all. Decaffeination is expensive, so in most cases, these folks are buying the lowest (cheapest) coffees available. But we believe decaf drinkers are true purists. Caffeine is not the goal, but the authentic flavor of the coffee. And we think it should be the best. Taste the true flavor of coffee with natural decaffeination by ethanol made from Colombian sugar cane. Enjoy notes of milk chocolate, cane sugar, light citrus.
